Frequently asked questions
How do you ship out the birds?
We use specialized shipping boxes designed to ensure the safe and clean transport of live birds. These boxes provide ample space for the birds’ comfort while preventing feather soiling during transit. This is our standard method of shipment to maintain the birds’ well-being. Each package is clearly labeled to ensure proper handling by couriers, keeping the birds upright and secure throughout their journey. We primarily ship via Delta Cargo, though USPS is available for smaller orders at a specified rate. We guarantee the live arrival of our birds and will offer a refund in the event of any issues. However, we reserve the right to investigate potential fraud, which may affect refund eligibility. Upon receipt of your birds, you must contact us within one hour to report their condition. Please note that coverage limitations apply to our live arrival guarantee.

What other birds can I house with my Gouldians in a mixed aviary?
Gouldians thrive in a mixed aviary with small to medium-sized seed-eating birds such as parrot finches, society finches, canaries, zebra finches, cordon blues, owl finches, and other Australian finches. However, they can become stressed when housed with more aggressive species like budgies, rosellas, quail, or doves. As social birds, Gouldians prefer to live in a colony setting.
What is the average lifespan of a Lady Gouldian Finch?
With proper care, Gouldian finches can live up to eight years. Some of my clients have had Gouldians reach 12 years of age, and I personally have birds that are up to eight years old. Their lifespan largely depends on the quality of their housing and nutrition.
Can I keep Gouldians without breeding them?
Yes! If breeding isn’t your goal, you can house either all males or all females together without any issues. Many of my clients keep aviaries filled with male Gouldians of various head and body colors, and they describe it as a stunning sight!
What size cage is best for a pair of Gouldians?
Since Gouldians love to fly, a spacious cage is essential. Ideally, a cage for a pair should be at least 36 inches long, 14 inches tall, and 10 inches wide to allow for comfortable movement.
